How to use this preview

Try a different title, page URL or description to see how the result changes. The character count and approximate title width update as you type. Search engines may display different text on the results page.

How to use the Google SERP Preview

  1. Type your draft into the Page title, Page URL, and Meta description fields — the preview updates instantly as you type.
  2. Watch the character counts and approximate title pixel width; titles over about 600 px risk being truncated in real results.
  3. Switch between the Desktop and Mobile buttons to see how the snippet renders at each size.
  4. Use Load sample to see a working example, or Clear fields to start fresh, then paste the final wording into your CMS.

Why it matters

The search snippet is your page's advertisement: title and description decide whether someone clicks your result or a competitor's, and click-through rate feeds back into performance. Too-long titles get cut off mid-thought, missing descriptions let Google pick random page text, and mobile renders differently from desktop. Previewing the snippet before publishing lets you craft titles and descriptions that fit the available space and earn the click — one of the highest-leverage minutes in SEO.

Google SERP Preview FAQs

Is this an exact Google search result preview?

No. It is a visual estimate. Google may display a different title or snippet and can truncate text based on the query, the device, and the space available. Use it to check fit and wording, then verify with real search results and Search Console performance data.

Does Google use a fixed character limit for title tags?

There is no single fixed limit. Titles are cut based on available display width, which is why this tool shows an approximate pixel width alongside the character count. As a rule of thumb, keep titles under about 600 pixels — roughly 50 to 60 characters — so the important words survive.

Are my title and description sent to a server?

No. The preview renders in your browser and nothing you type is transmitted. You can safely draft titles for unreleased pages and client work without anything leaving your device, and the tool keeps working even on a slow connection, with no sign-in needed.

Why does the mobile preview look different?

Mobile results show the description over up to three lines and render in a narrower card, so truncation points differ from desktop. The mobile button in the preview panel switches to a 390-pixel-wide layout so you can check that your title and description still read well where most searches now happen.

This tool is a planning preview, not a prediction of the exact result Google will show.
